Summer Employment for Adults and Teens

ALL POSITIONS ARE FOR DAY CAMPS ONLY.  YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE FROM THE BASE CAMP OF CASTLE ROCK PARK IN WALNUT CREEK.   Below is a list of positions available for our Summer 2008 season.    Primary needs every season are qualified Senior Counselors with California Class B drivers license **(commercial with "P" endorsement) and...   Senior, Group or Junior Counselors with technical knowledge and ability to teach skateboarding.   If you are interested in any of the positions indicated below, please forward your resume to info@caladventurecamps.org .  Please include any special skills, certifications etc. you feel would be helpful in your selection.   ** We will provide training materials and vehicle to obtain Class B license and we will reimburse for license fees.

Job Title	Description	Requirements
Assistant Director	Assistant Directors are responsible for assisting all camp operations in a supervisory, operational and administrative role.    Assitant Directors (AD) will directly supervise all staff positions assigned to them.  The AD will work with their staff to create weekly activity schedules for each group and then monitor those schedules to ensure quality, fun and safety.   The AD will perform all necessary administrative functions, delegate responsibility, train and develop staff and be ultimately responsible for the safety, security and fun experience of the campers.     Salary: $500 per week / 47 hour week.  A $500 bonus will be paid if AD is with us concurrently through August 28th and meets minimum performance goals.   (This position is now filled)	The AD must be at least 20 years of age or over, have prior camp or relevant experience, have supervisory experience and be able to effectively motivate staff and administer programs. CPR, and First Aid certified is encouraged.     1-2 positions available
Senior Counselor	Senior Counselors are responsible for program development and implementation of activities for a group of 15 - 30 campers.  A senior counselor will directly supervise group counselors, junior counselors and counselors in training.  A senior counselor will have experience in managing, supervising and directing peers and young people. A senior counselor is directly responsible for the safety, supervision and enjoyment of campers and leaders they supervise.   A senior counselor is creative, responsible, quick thinking, outgoing, friendly, happy and comfortable in a leadership role.   Salary: $375 per week / 40 hour week Bonus of $250 is received after working with us through at least August 22 and meeting easy performance goals.       Positions are still available	Minimum age: 20 years Must have supervisory experience. Must have experience directly supervising children under the age of 12 and creating and implementing fun activities, sports and games. Some senior counselor positions require a California Class B License. (i.e.Explorers Day Camp and Skateboard Camp) Should be CPR/First Aid certified.   Number of positions available during season: 4 -5
Group Leader	Group Leaders are responsible for program development and implementation of activities for a group of 3-12 campers.  A Group Leader will directly supervise  junior counselors and counselors in training.   A Group Leader is directly responsible for the safety, supervision and enjoyment of campers and leaders they supervise.   A Group Leader is creative, responsible, quick thinking, outgoing, friendly, happy and comfortable in a leadership role.   Salary $9.00 per hour / 20 - 40 hours per week $250 bonus at end of summer for working with us through at least August 22.   Positions are still available	Minimum Age: 18 Previous experience supervising and directing young people under the age of 12 is preferred. Specialty skills are helpful such as: Specialized sports ability ( soccer, football, basketball, skateboard etc.) CPR/First Aid certified is preferred.   Number of positions available during season: 8 - 12
